Perisitaltic Pumps

A peristaltic pump is a positive displacement pump used to pump liquids. A peristaltic pump contains a flexible rubber tube that runs from the suction port of the pump to the discharge of the pump. A motor is then used to rotate a roller around the rubber tube which compresses the tube causing a vacuum to be created to create a suction lift until the tube is filed with the liquid. Once the tube is filled with the liquid the roller then compresses the tube and in doing so moves the liquid through the tube by compression much like a hand compressing a tube of toothpaste. The roller continues to rotate around the pump and the speed can typically be controlled by a gear reducer being fitted or by an inverter in which the operator selects the desired speed of the pump.

Peristaltic Pumps can be used to pump a wide variety of liquids from cement, to slurry, inks, foods fruit juices etc. Each peristaltic pump ican be manufactured with a different tube to ensure its checmical compatibility with the fluid being pumped. Peristatlic pump tubes are typically available in:
